This Privacy Policy explains how EasyRead (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the EasyRead mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

By using EasyRead, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

EasyRead is a focused reading app that helps you read books and documents, save vocabulary, use AI reading assistance, and optionally sync progress across devices.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run the Service:

Account information

• Name and email address when you register
• Authentication data if you sign in with Google or Apple
• Password (stored securely hashed; we never store plain-text passwords)

Reading & app data

• Books and documents you save or import
• Reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, and notes
• Vocabulary / saved words
• App preferences (language, reader settings)

Subscription & payments

• Subscription status and entitlement data via RevenueCat / app stores
• We do not receive or store your full payment card details (handled by Apple App Store / Google Play)

Device & technical data

• Device type, OS version, and app version (for support and push delivery)
• Push notification tokens (FCM) if notifications are enabled
• Basic server logs (IP address, timestamps, error diagnostics) for security and reliability

AI assistance (when you use it)

• Short text passages you submit for simplify, summarize, explain, translate, or related AI features
• These are processed to fulfill your request and are not sold

3. How we use information

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve reading, library, sync, and AI features
• Authenticate you and secure your account
• Deliver in-app and push notifications you consent to receive
• Manage subscriptions and premium access
• Respond to support requests
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and technical issues
• Comply with applicable laws

4. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal data
• We do not sell your reading habits or vocabulary lists to advertisers
• We do not use your private reading content to build advertising profiles
• We do not use your AI passages to train public AI models for unrelated purposes

5. Sharing of information

We may share limited data with trusted processors only to operate the Service, such as:

• Cloud hosting / database providers that store app data
• RevenueCat and Apple/Google for subscriptions
• AI providers (e.g. Google AI / OpenAI) when you use AI features — only the text needed for that request
• Push notification providers (e.g. Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• Email delivery for OTPs, receipts, or account messages

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect users and the Service.

6. Data storage & security

• Account and cloud-synced reading data are stored on secured servers
• Local device storage may keep offline books, progress, and preferences
• We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, hashed passwords)
• No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to reduce risk

7. Data retention

• We retain account and reading data while your account is active
• You may request deletion of your account/data by contacting support@easyread.com
• Backups and logs may persist for a limited period for security and legal compliance

8. Children’s privacy

EasyRead is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Do not use the Service if you are under the applicable age. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• Export a copy of your data
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
• Object to certain processing

10. International users

Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that data may be transferred to those locations with appropriate safeguards.
